Art that belongs
in the room
Jewels Basel is not an art fair. It is a salon where jewelry and art are in conversation.
Every work selected for Jewels Basel shares something with the jewelry that surrounds it: it is made by hand, conceived with precision, and intended for someone who looks carefully. The galleries and artists who participate are chosen for the quality of their work and for the dialogue they create with the jewelers around them.

The Dialogue
Why jewelry and art
belong together
Both disciplines share an obsession with the relationship between material and meaning. A sculptural jewel and a bronze figure ask the same question from different scales. A painted surface and a cut stone are both investigations into how light and matter combine to create something that did not exist before.
At Jewels Basel, the proximity is not decorative. It is curatorial. The works are chosen to be in each other's company — and the collectors who attend are the kind of people who notice the difference.
